Jayne: Body Grief & Soft Resilience | ANAD


Jayne (she/her), advocate, speaker, mental health professional, and author, helps those who struggle with body image and what she calls “Body Grief” through her expertise and vivid storytelling. Her passion was ignited by her own struggles with an eating disorder as a young woman as this led to her gaining a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, specializing in eating disorder recovery and body image struggles. 

Jayne is newly disabled and chronically ill, having been diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, intracranial hypertension, endometriosis, and an incomplete spinal cord injury. She has undergone 19 brain and spine surgeries and a total hysterectomy in under five years, all of this resulting in an immense amount of Body Grief; This is Body Grief is Jayne’s debut book coming out in Spring 2025 with Penguin Random House Publishing.  Jayne continues to run her business Recovery Love and Care and her nonprofit The AND Initiative, Inspiring and equipping individuals living with chronic illness and physical disabilities to live their AND through advocacy and gifting mobility aids to individuals with physical disabilities.
