As women, we carry SO so much in our wombs. And this isn’t typically something we think about, nor something we typically devote healing attention or practices to.
I’m hoping that this speaks to you and allows you to begin to consider the ways that our wombs carry our many experiences and choices This is the first time I’ve written specifically about healing our wombs, second chakras, our feminine “bowl” where our female organs live.
Over the 30 years I’ve been in practice, I’ve had many women clients who were challenged with fertility issues, or who feared they might never bring a baby to term because of past traumas, physical or otherwise.
I’ve also been honored to walk along the paths of many clients with sexual trauma, abuse, date-rapes, unwanted sexual attention, and experiences that left them holding all sorts of pain in their second chakras and in their throat chakras. These places are related as you’ll see.
As we know, what is in one is in the whole. As we heal our own feminine, we also impact and help to heal our Mother Earth. There is so much pain in the global feminine community- oppression and poverty, female mutilation, sexual slavery and physical abuse. Now is the time for us to begin to look within and to heal and balance our divine feminine and healthy masculine energies.
Our many experiences in our lives around our sexuality, our bodies, our relationships, giving birth, not being able to give birth, miscarriages, abortions saturate us in shame and guilt to the point where our throat chakras are also shut down. We are unable to speak or express so much of what has happened. It gets stored in our bodies, in our sacred second chakra and female organs.
It is said that with every sexual partner, we carry their imprint in the womb.
Any sexual encounter that was not sacred, where we were not present and did not create something wanted and alive and mutual and trusting. Still there.
Any surgeries, procedures, illness or dis-ease in our female organs or wombs… leave an imprint.
Our own time within our mother’s womb and her energies, emotions, and everything she was carrying in the womb…we were marinating in for 9 months.
Our experience and level of well-being while carrying our own babes.
Traumas around conception, pregnancy and birth.
Miscarriages, abortion or adoption.
Any kind of sexual abuse, regardless of our age.
All of these, all of these, imprint our sacred wombs. We carry the imprints and energies of all of these.
How then do we heal our sacred temples, how do we release what does not belong, that which we don’t want to carry?
While focusing on this kind of healing, you may choose to be celibate for a while to allow your self to clear, release, and heal while exploring in this new way.
Attend to any healing with the intentions of love and gratitude for the gifts of consciousness, of wisdom, and for becoming more connected to pure love and light.
Allow your self to become conscious of who you allow access to your sexual self and the energy that lives in the womb. Now we can begin to honor the vessel that we are.
If you choose, make time to connect with your womb daily. Lie down and with eyes closed place your hands gently and with love on the womb. Breathe and attune to your heart with tenderness and compassion, with love. Imagine yourself surrounded and held by beings of the light, all of the divine feminine support, Mother Earth/Gaia, and Sophia the feminine face of God. You may even want to call on the support of your female ancestors.
Listen as shame or self-loathing or memories arise. Just notice without trying to change anything, and without judging what comes up now or what has been. Breathe in and out and soften…imagine yourself breathing in sacred healing light that fills your cells and that as you breathe out, whatever doesn’t belong is carried out.
Sense the presence of the higher beings, knowing they are surrounding and filling you with healing love and light and allow yourself to receive, in whatever ways you imagine. Affirm to yourself that you are dearly loved, cherished, safe and protected. That you are a divine holy woman and sacred ground.Thank your body for all that it has carried, for all of the ways that it has supported you.
Journal during this time as much as possible.
Write about where you lost your power and said yes instead of no, or times you were silent when you wanted to say no. Write about the fears that led you to these choices, while forgiving yourself for doing the best you could. All of these connect with the throat chakra- where we speak our truth, and create our expression into the world.
One thing I’ve noticed, is how many of us carry extra weight around our midsection, lower in our bellies. My clients and I have all admitted that this feels like protection for a tender place in our bodies. I’ve seen many clients hold pillows against their lower belly, also as protection.
How does all of this land for you? This can be painful to tap into. As women most of us have experienced some kind of trauma around our sexuality even if we’ve never thought of it in this way.
And for any of us struggling with weight issues, I promise you… it’s related.
This is a powerful place to begin any kind of healing work. I am honored to walk beside you to explore the release of these issues and to restore wholeness and the beauty and aliveness of your divine feminine to your life… the difference this makes is great big huge.
