Monday Night Football in Cincinnati!

First of all, I want to thank you all for such kind comments on my last post about body image as a married woman. Definitely a humbling post. And I so appreciate all the wonderful friends on here with words of encouragement!

Switching gears here…it’s Monday Night Football…IN CINCINNATI!!!

That’s right! The Bengals take on the Rams tonight in Cincinnati for Monday Night Football! And we are right in the heart of it!

Last weekend, my husband and I went to the game. But tonight, we will be watching from a bar! How “Who Dey” are we?!

But there will be upwards of 65,000 people walking past our condo to get to the game tonight to see if Joe Burrow can turn the season around and put the first win on the board!

There’s going to be a huge tailgate on the riverbank, and already today as I was out running errands this morning, the entire city is decked out in orange and black and people are wearing their Bengals gear. It’s going to be awesome.

This hometown spirit is one of the many reasons why I love Cincinnati.

Also: the Ohio River and how beautiful it is, and is the bloodline of the city.

I love how friendliness and generosity are part of everyone’s inherent makeup here.

I love the four seasons — and how we actually get multiple weeks of gorgeous fall weather…unlike New York City where you might get 4 days of fall…if you’re lucky.

I love that there’s no traffic.

I love that prices are affordable.

I love that you can own your own home here.

I love that family is close by, and you can get together with them on the spur of the moment.

I love that faith is celebrated, and part of people’s public lives here.

I love that the police and law enforcement are respected here. (This weekend at the Cathedral, they held their annual “Blue Mass” to honor law enforcement, and the church was packed!)

I love that family is important, and marriage and family life are seen as desirable.

I love that children are protected from ideas and topic matters that they shouldn’t be exposed to. Period.

I love that it’s safe and I can walk around the city without fear.

And I love that it’s where my husband and I are building a life and a future together.

Sorry for that love letter to Cincinnati, but it’s just days like today where the sun is shining, it’s a perfect 75 degrees, the city is a buzz with Bengals fever, and I’ve got a delicious — and affordable — meal in the oven for my husband and I.

Anywho —

Let’s hope that Joe Burrow can pull off a win tonight. We certainly need it!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday night!
