katiescarlett-speaks: This poem is about my struggle with living as someone Fibromyalgia and Mental Illness and the constant pressure we (can be applied to anyone really) endure living in a society that is driven by consumerism, industry, and productivity. It speaks to my feelings of seeking solitude and peace in a world that is constantly moving and refuses to allow any moments for recovery to recuperate for the days ahead of us. katiescarlett-speaks: The pictures on the left range from grades 3-6. My life with my eating disorder and body dysmorphia began here, a horrible battle with self hate and hurt. Seeing these childhood photos this week wasn’t just nostalgic, it was sad. It allowed me to see the girl I forgot I was. So often as we grow up we don’t have proper perspective to se who and what we really are because the opinions of others are shaping our impressionable minds. What were the things that shaped me? You are fat and because you are fat you are ugly, unloveable, unwanted and deserve to be treated badly.
