This poem is about my struggle with living as someone Fibromyalgia and Mental Illness and the constant pressure we (can be applied to anyone really) endure living in a society that is driven by consumerism, industry, and productivity. It speaks to my feelings of seeking solitude and peace in a world that is constantly moving and refuses to allow any moments for recovery to recuperate for the days ahead of us. How can we help and love others if we can’t even take care of ourselves and help ourselves?
